The plan for City-Center was approved in May 2006 and work on extending and renovating the office and retail centre started from the basement that same spring. In the autumn, the work progressed to the right wing. This phase was completed in April 2007 and the refurbished retail premises were opened for business in May. After the completion of the right wing, the renovation work began in the left wing of the real estate, which after completion returned to business use in April 2008. In years 2008-2009 construction work was going on in the basement of the property and other underground areas, where various shafts were being built for technical systems for the new service yard.

At the moment is going on a major above-ground phase which includes construction of the new office building for Evli Bank Plc in the inner courtyard and new store premises replacing the parking deck on the third floor. During this phase, will also be built the glazed main light well, which will bring daylight right down to the lowest level of the building, and some new retail premises around the light well on the first and the second floors. This phase will be complete in autumn 2011.
